Lighting Up Our Legacy Lantern Walk

LIGHT UP OUR LEGACY in Anacostia! In the spirit of the Million Man March and the return of Unifest, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, we walk the path our ancestors walked across the 11th Street Bridge into Anacostia and Barry Farms where they built their homes and communities.

Run of Show:

5:00 – 6:00 PM – Gathering at 11th & M Street

6:00 – 6:30 PM – Opening speeches (youth will perform)

6:30 PM – Lantern Walk begins

7:15 PM – Arrival at the church

7:30 PM – Youth performance at the church
